The BSE METAL Index has plunged 2% to 11,588.
Among the top losers in the BSE METAL Index today are HINDALCO (down 4.1%), JINDAL STEEL & POWER (down 3.4%) and TATA STEEL (down 2.3%). Other losers include JSW STEEL (down 2.2%) and SAIL (down 2.1%).
Over the last one year, the BSE METAL Index has moved up from 10,218 to 11,588, registering a gain of 1,370 points (up 13.4%).
The top losers among the BSE METAL during this same period were COAL INDIA (down 32.1%) and NMDC (down 17.4%).
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex has plunged 0.6% to 48,387.
Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are TECH MAHINDRA (up 2.0%), L&T (up 1.5%) and M&M (up 1.2%). Other gainers include ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 1.1%) and ITC (up 1.0%).
The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and L&T.
In the meantime, the NSE Nifty is at 14,238 (down 0.6%).
