Rahul appeals to govt to withdraw agri laws

Rahul appeals to govt to withdraw agri laws

New Delhi, Jan 27 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday once again reiterated his demand to withdraw the farm laws.

Sharing a quote of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi, Rahul said, "Once again, I appeal to the Modi government to immediately withdraw the anti-agricultural law."

The recently enacted agricultural reforms have remained bone of contention between the farmers and the Centre from past three months. Since then, the Congress party has been extremely critical of the government.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, after the violence in national capital on Tuesday, said it was not right on the government's part to create a facade of talks and yet, neither conceding to their demands nor proposing any solution.

Republic Day celebration in the National Capital was marred by violence as thousands of farmers protesting against agriculture reforms breached the security cordon at the borders and clashed with police. More than 300 policemen were injured in the violence.
