MUMBAI: A magistrate court on Monday issued process against directors of Hubtown Ltd for an alleged delay in payment of tax deducted at source (TDS) amounting to Rs 8.78 crore for financial year 2017-18.
The court held that a prima facie case was made to issue process.
The complaint was submitted and argued by special public prosecutor Amit Munde.
It said all accused directors are responsible for company affairs for tax compliance.
The complainant added that after deducting amount, instead of depositing it to the government account within due date for payment to the credit of government, the accused failed, without reasonable cause or excuse, to pay within the prescribed period the said amount of Income Tax (TDS) to the credit of the Central Government.
