LUCKNOW: A 28-year-old MBA student was shot in posh Gomtinagar, Lucknow, by his friend, a contractor, following a spat, police said. The accused has been arrested and is in jail.
Azamgarh resident Ankur Tiwari had a verbal spat over the phone with his friend Dhananjay Singh. The duo later met near Jaipuria School in Gomtinagar where, according to police, they had an altercation. “During the altercation, Dhananjay pulled out a gun and fired at Ankur before fleeing. The bullet hit Ankur in his back,” said assistant commissioner of police, Gomtinagar, Shweta Srivastava.
The gun used by Dhananjay is illegal and police have decided to book him under Arms Act, too. He tried to flee to Rae Bareli but police managed to track and arrest him after an FIR of attempt to murder.
Ankur was referred to KGMU trauma centre. He is now out of danger.
