Six new COVID-19 cases, 12 recoveries in Meghalaya

Shillong, Jan 26 (UNI) Six new cases of COVID-19 infection added up to 98 active cases, while 12 more persons recovered from the viral disease, surging up the recovery figure to 13,496 in Meghalaya on Tuesday.
Director Health Service (MI), Dr. Aman War said that the new COVID-19 cases detected on Tuesday were four in East Khasi Hills district and one each in Ri-Bhoi district and West Khasi Hills district.
With 86 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, which includes Shillong is the most affected district in the State.
On the other hand the new recoveries from the viral disease recorded on Tuesday included 10 in East Jaintia Hills district and one each in East Jaintia Hills district and North Garo Hills district.
Four districts — South West Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills, East Garo Hills and South Garo Hills — are currently free from COVID infection.
So far, Meghalaya has registered a total of 13,840 COVID-19 cases that includes 146 fatalities, 98 active cases and 13,496 cases of recovery from the viral disease.
