JAIPUR: BJP’s campaigning for local body polls reached its zenith on Monday with three days remaining for the election. Most of the senior party leaders are camping in their areas of influence holding public rallies and meetings in favour of their candidates.
Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria is touring poll-bound municipalities, mostly the rural areas of Udaipur, while former state president Arun Chaturvedi and MLA Sanganer Ashok Lahoti are going door-to-door for votes in Ajmer Municipal Corporation polls.
The leaders have carefully chosen their issues and line of campaigning as per the voter’s profile. Chaturvedi is engaging urban voters by holding direct conversations with them. His campaign strategy revolves around the deteriorating law and order situation and poor economy.
"The urban voters in Ajmer are very well aware of state’s poor position in the NCRB data, mishandling during Covid-19 and poor business sentiment," said Chaturvedi, who had the facts and data handy to show that previous BJP regime performed better than the present Congress government.
