After nearly two years of conceptualizing a lightweight spiked golf shoe that checks all the boxes for players, Adidas has finally come out with the ZG21.

The ZG21 is Adidas’ lightest spiked footwear model to date, featuring its signature Boost cushioning. The brand also claims that its new model is up to 20% lighter than other spiked shoes on the market. The new golf shoe comes in four models, including options for men, women and junior golfers. The collection ranges from $65-$200 and is now available on Adidas.com.

“ZG21 is truly a breakthrough feat in spiked performance,” said Masun Denison, the global footwear director of Adidas Golf, in a statement issued by the brand. “We were able to combine the latest and greatest materials, innovations, and manufacturing processes without sacrificing anything. It changes the game for those who love spiked footwear.”

Adidas has packed several notable features in the new golf shoe. Above all is the cushioning technology, which the brand boasts is lighter than any EVA foam footwear on the market. In combination with its signature Boost foam, the golf shoe provides players lightweight comfort with every swing and step.

The waterproof shoe also has an ultra-thin TPU construction on the outsole. The six strategically placed cleats and a  crescent moon-shaped secondary lug helps support and grip the turf while still keeping it lightweight.

In addition to a lace-up version, the ZG21 is also available in two Boa models. The shoes feature a Y-strap design that is the first in the sport. Aimed to achieve a higher level of performance, the strap wraps around the foot and creates a secure fit while giving flexibility and freedom in the toe box.

The ZG21 Boa is also the first golf shoe on the market to feature Li2 technology. The feature comes in a low-profile dial platform on the upper and is designed to regulate tension where needed, so you can feel your best while on the green.

Other features of Adidas’ innovative golf shoe include swingplane traction, which provides a precision fit to your foot, and an ultra-light stability fin, which is the brand’s new lightweight TPU insert that is located on the lateral sidewall of the shoe. This feature offers stability to your feet throughout your game.
