KALABURAGI: Three sons were so devoted to their parents that they built a temple to honour their memory and installed their busts there. The temple at Niragudi village in Aland taluk, Kalaburagi district was inaugurated on Monday.
While farmer Vishwanath Patre died three years ago, his wife Laxmibai Patre died six months ago. Their childrengram panchayat member Jagannath, 45, Panchayat Development Officer Dasharath, 42, and First Division Assistant Dhananjay, 38 — constructed a small temple and installed their parents’ bust that they could worship.

The sons spent Rs 2 lakh on the temple construction. At the inauguration, residents of the village gathered to appreciate their work. They recalled the couple educated their sons to become good citizens and be a role model for other children. The eldest son, Jagannath said he stayed back in the village and managed their land and took care of his parents. While he studied up to class 10, his younger brothers went on to study more and managed to get government jobs. The three siblings are married and have children.

After their parents passed away, they decided to pool their resources and construct a temple where they could worship them.
