This time on 26 January 2021, we are going to celebrate the 72nd Republic Day of independent India. In the last seven decades since independence, our country has created many records in various fields. Indian scientists and engineers have achieved many unprecedented successes in various missions related to the space and defense sector. In the last few years, India has earned a lot of name from its achievements in the field of science, nationally and internationally. Let's know those achievements and records ...
Here a list of important achievements in the field of science and technology has been provided, whose names have a record of being the first in the country.
Country's first hydroelectric plant: Sidrapong (Darjeeling)
First Indian man to go into space: Rakesh Sharma
Country's first nuclear reactor: Apsara (Maharashtra)
First satellite: Aryabhata
First indigenous launch vehicle: SLV-3

First Indian to get Nobel Prize in Physics: Dr. CV Raman
Some important achievements of seven decades
Mission Mangalyaan
The success of ISRO's Mars mission in 2014 has brought the country to the forefront of space science. Mangalyaan made by ISRO scientists to reach the orbit of Mars in the first attempt is a big achievement. India is the first country in the world to achieve success in the first attempt. Space agencies in the US, Russia, and Europe were able to reach Mars after several attempts.
BSNL Satellite Service
BSNL has launched Satellite-based Internet of Things equipment service in 2020. It is the world's first satellite-based IoT network. This made it possible to make phone contact from any place within the country's maritime border, even if there is not even a mobile tower.
Gene modification of the banana genome
In 2018, researchers at the National Institute of Agri-Food Biotechnology, Mohali modified the banana genome. This has been done with the help of the Crisper / CAS9 technique of gene modification. This was the first research conducted on any fruit crop in India. With this, gene modification techniques have been adopted in improving the nutritional quality of bananas, enhancing the agriculturally beneficial properties, and preparing disease-resistant varieties.
Achievements in the nuclear field
India inducted its own nuclear submarine INS Arihant into the Navy. This is a major step and a special achievement in the maritime defense sector. With the success of INS Arihant, India became a country capable of carrying out nuclear attacks from the three worlds of water, land, and sky. After India, America, France, Russia, Britain, and China, India has become the sixth country to have built its own nuclear submarine. This allows nuclear missiles to be fired underwater and from the surface of the water. Not only this, through this, any aircraft underwater can also be targeted and destroyed.
The world saw on the Bhuvan portal
Bhuvan software developed by Indian Space Research (ISRO) can make you travel around the world through your mobile and computer. Through this portal, you can view satellite images from all over the world. Explain that in Sanskrit, Bhuvan means earth. However, sensitive places like military and nuclear institutions will not be visible in it. The pictures seen in the Bhuvan portal are taken from ISRO's seven remote sensing satellites. Its picture quality is more apparent than Google Earth.
Toxic pesticide-resistant gels
Scientists at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine have created a protective gel called poly-oxime. It is applied to the skin. It is extremely beneficial for farmers when spraying pesticides in fields. It converts toxic chemicals into such safe substances that they do not reach deep into organs like the brain and lungs.
