Police shut down parties as Australia Day gatherings breach COVID-19 restrictions
Police have shut down multiple parties across the city, including one on a sandbar in Sydney’s south where more than 100 people were gathered.

Elsewhere, emergency services were called just after 4pm to a party at Bradley’s Head, in Mosman, after a teenager, believed to be 17, was pulled unconscious from the water. He is yet to be taken to the hospital.
There are also reports of another party near the site of the former Manly Aquarium, were about 100 people have gathered.
Under COVID-19 restrictions, no more than 30 people can gather outside in a public place which includes parks and beaches in greater Sydney.
Sydney experienced its hottest day of a five-day heatwave on Tuesday as temperatures spiked at 40 degrees at the airport and 36 degrees in the CBD.
