US band The Flaming Lips took a one-of-a-kind approach to their concert, performing inside giant, clear inflatable balls, while the audience watched from cocoons of their own.

The show accommodated 100 transparent bubbles, the BBC reports, each filled with up to three people. On stage, the band were nestled away in bubbles of their own while they performed.

The idea for the concert came from the group's lead singer Wayne Coyne who usually rolls over the crowd inside a Zorb ball, according to the publication.

Each bubble contained a speaker, water bottle, battery operated fan and a towel.

Attendees were also given signs which they could flash when they needed to use the bathroom, and one for when the plastic bubble became a little too hot. In this instance, it would reportedly be filled with cool air from a leaf blower.

In response to the coronavirus, the entertainment industry has had to find creative ways to allow the show to go on.

In 2020, the first social distancing concert took place in the UK, with attendees meters apart in their own viewing platforms.
