Puducherry, Jan 25 (UNI) Public Works Department (PWD) Minister A Namassivayam, who resigned on Monday, charged that Chief Minister's action has forced him to quit the Congress party.
In a letter to AICC President Sonia Gandhi, the Minister said after the Assembly election in 2016, Mr Narayanasamy, who did not contest the election, jumped into the fray and staked a claim for the Chief Minister post which forced an unnecessary byelection in Nellithope Assembly constituency.
He said right from the day he has taken charge as the Chief Minister, his only work was to keep confrontation with the Prime Minister, Central Government and Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi deliberately without weighing on the subject and impact that could arise to the people of Puducherry.
Due to Mr Narayanasamy's behaviour, people of Puducherry have suffered a lot, he claimed, adding that people has lost faith in the Indian National Congress as the Chief Minister's inexperience in local governance became a detrimental factor in executing the Election Manifesto.
To avoid disgrace to his image, he has pulled up the PM, Union Government and LG, as they are intervening into the affairs of INC government here, Mr Namassivayam said in the letter.
