Adilabad: A large quantity of oil tins, dried coconut and soya bean grains were fitted in a fire accident at an oil manufacturer warehouse here on Monday. The value of the loss is assessed to be somewhere between Rs 7 lakh and 8 lakh. The cause of fire is electric short-circuit. District Fire Officer B Keshavulu said that the oil tins, coconut and soya bean stored in a warehouse were reduced to ashes. The warehouse belongs to Arun Agarwal.
Flames were extinguished using two fire engines brought from Adilabad fire station. The firefighters managed to control the flames after a period of two hours. Thick smoke enveloped the surroundings. Locals said that they feared whether the fire spread to neighboring houses. Adilabad fire station in-charge Kantha Rao, leading fireman Ravi, fire fighters Khadeer, Devender, Khaleel and Jaithram of Ichoda Fire station took part in the operation and doused the flames.
