Poll: Here's what India thinks about the new COVID vaccine

The novel coronavirus not only disrupted the lives of millions of people, but it also took a heavy toll on everyone's mental health and well being. Since the outbreak of the virus, people across the world have been waiting and wishing for a vaccine. But with the launch of the new COVID vaccine in India, people have entered yet another state of confusion. While it comes as a ray of hope, considering it is not devoid of its side effects and possible medical complications, it also raises questions and doubts in the minds of the public.
That said, we conducted a poll asking people of how they felt about the new COVID vaccine and whether or not they were ready to take the vaccine shot.

Poll 1

While about 94% of the total participants were aware of the vaccination drive in the country, 58% were highly sceptical about it's effectiveness. Therefore, considering majority of the people doubt the efficacy of the vaccine, 52% of the total participants are not ready to overlook its side effects.

Poll 2
Given the importance of the vaccine and in light of all the chaos and panic, it is not surprising to witness that people are equally interested in getting the vaccine and also sceptical about it too. A similar number of people also expressed their doubts and were not sure whether they're ready to take the vaccine jab at all.

Poll 3

However, when we took to social media, 45% of the poll participants voted yes to taking the new COVID vaccine. While 33% are ready to overlook the vaccination process, 21% are still making up their minds on whether they should take the jab or not.

There's no second thought that a vaccine is our only recluse, however, whether or not we should take the jab relies solely on its effectiveness and efficacy.
