JD(U) appoints new party presidents in all 41 organisational districts in Bihar

PATNA: Bihar’s ruling JD(U) on Monday reconstituted its all district committees and appointed new district presidents in all 41 organizational districts.
Bihar has 38 revenue districts, but the JD(U) has 41 organizational districts.
JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha released a list of the party’s new district presidents for all 41 organizational districts.
“The new district presidents were nominated after reconstitution of the district committees in all 41 districts,” the party’s state general secretary Anil Kumar told TOI here on Monday.
As per the list released by Kushwaha, former transport minister Santosh Kumar Nirala, who lost the 2020 assembly polls from Rajpur constituency, has been made new district president of Buxar, while newly elected MLA from Benipur Ajay Choudhary has been made the new district president of Darbhanga.
The party’s two MLCs- Bhishma Sahani and Salman Ragib have been made district chief of Bagaha and Nawada, respectively.
Altogether three woman leaders namely Smt Manju Kumari alias Guddi Devi, Smt Ashwamegh Devi and Smt Manju Devi, have been made the party’s district chief of Madhepura, Samastipur and Arwal, respectively.
Former MLA Arun Manjhi, who lost the 2020 assembly polls from Phulwari seat to the CPI-ML candidate, has been nominated as new district president of Patna. Similarly, former minister Naushad Alam has been asked to lead the party organization in the minorities-dominated Kishanganj district.
