Tiger movement on a road creates flutter in Asifabad

Certain motorists claimed that a big cat was sighted when crossing the stretch.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The movement of a tiger on Kaghaznagar-Sirpur (T) road creates panic among motorists and rural folks on Monday. Certain motorists claimed that a big cat was sighted when crossing the stretch. Ch Purnachander, Sirpur (T) Forest Range Officer said that a tiger was spotted by motorists once. It’s a path of the big cat, which usually crosses the road at regular intervals. The road passes through thick forest which is a habitat of the carnivores. There is no need to panic over the movement of the animal, he stated.

It may be noted here that the big cat, named A2, is suspected to have killed two tribals in the forests of Kondapalli village in Penchikapet mandal and Digida village of Dahegaon mandal in November last, is keeping the foresters on tenterhooks by moving from hither and thither and indulging depredation of livestock. It is yet to be trapped by the authorities of the forest department.
