Mah: Farmers union take out tractor rally

Kolhapur, Jan 25 (UNI) Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghstana (SSS) on Monday took out a huge tractor-trolley rally from neighbouring Sangli to Kolhapur, to register their protest against three recently enacted farm laws and extend their support to the farmers agitating at the peripheries of the national capital.

SSS workers led by president Raju Shetty, gathered at Krantisinh Nana Patil Chowk in Vishrambag area of Sangli city this morning with their tractor-trollies.

Mr Shetty garlanded a statue of late Krantiveer Nana Patil and green signaled to rally, which passed through Sangli-Kolhapur highway by Udgaon-Jaysingpur-Hatkanangale and reached Kolhapur city.

Mr Shetty and other SSS leaders participated in the rally with driving tractors from start to finish upto Kolhapur city with about 50 KM distance between two districts.

Mr Shetty, while addressing the gathering, said that SSS has taken out the rally to support the farmers, who agitating from last more than two months at Delhi border points for their demand to whthdraw three agri bills but central goverment only wasting time in discussion with farmers leaders without any firm decision on their demand.

He said that before independence , farmers of the country had also fight with British ruler for their demand and Karntiveer Nana Patil had also agitated against British rule that time, today also country's farmers agitating farmers for their demand against central government.

He said that opposition parties not not supporting farmers agitation with total strength because of terror of industrialists Adana and Ambani, who wanted to purchase agri products from the farmers for to sail it in extra prices in open market.
