Shall i receive Income tax refund if i have not prevalidated my bank account on income tax portal for a.y.2020-21.

for a.y. 2019-20 also? When was it became mandatory to prevalidate bank account?

Pre-validation is additional safety feature for refund issued by CPC. is it mandatory ? I don't think so.
