OBITUARY: Dale Baker

HOBE SOUND, Fla.— Dale Baker, a longtime auto dealer in Michigan and Ohio, died Jan. 9 at age 86. He got his start selling tires from the basement of a dealership and went on to own stores representing brands including Oldsmobile, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Cadillac, Honda, Suzuki, Isuzu, Hyundai and Fiat. His flagship business, Dale Baker Motor Mall, was a staple in Grand Rapids, Mich., for more than 25 years until he sold it in 2001.
