Mr Namassivayam also submitted a letter, addressed to the Chief Minister, to the Speaker resigning as Ministeras Mr Narayanasamy was not available in his office.
Talking to news persons later, Mr Namassivayam said that he was 'forced' to take a decision to quit the Congress as he was ‘ignored’ in the party.
No schemes in the PWD department were executed and intervention was there by the Chief Minister.
Even though, the party High Command was apprised of the happenings, no action was initiated and hence, he quit the Congress party.
Asked about the reports that he is leaving for New Delhi and joining the BJP, he said that “I am leaving it to your imagination”.
Mr Namasivayam, elected as MLA from Villinaur Constituency, was 'unhappy' with the government right from his election in 2016.
