The CBI has arrested two people, including a labor officer, for allegedly taking bribes in exchange for issuing labor licenses. CBI sources said on Sunday that the accused have been identified as Madurai-based Regional Labor Commissioner P Sivarajan and N Murali of Chennai.
The CBI statement said that a case has been registered against the accused for demanding a bribe in return for issuing a labor license from the representative of the private company. On the basis of the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and arrested the two during the transaction of bribe amounting to Rs. 30,000. After production, the court sent both the accused to judicial custody till 4 February.
