AR organises awareness lecture on National Girl Child Day

Imphal, January 24 2021: To mark the National Girl Child Week, troops of Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on the theme "Empowering Girls for a Brighter Tomorrow" at Charoikhullen village of Churachandpur today.

The event was organised with the aim to highlight the inequalities faced by the girl child in the society and spread awareness about the fundamental rights and equality for women in the society, said IGAR (S) in a statement The awareness lecture was focused on increasing the consciousness of the people to remove inequalities and to ensure that the girl child gets all their rights, respect and value in the society, it said.

55 girls along with ladies and Meira Paibis attended the event, it continued.
