Adidas is expanding its activewear into the maternity category.
The new capsule collection that’s made just for expecting moms features performance tops and leggings that are designed to stretch and grow throughout pregnancy. The athletic brand’s first-ever maternity activewear line was made in collaboration with women at different stages of their term. Ranging from $25-$45, the collection will be available starting Friday, Jan. 29, on Adidas.com. The drop will happen at 3 a.m. ET.
“With the body experiencing daily change throughout the journey of motherhood, it was paramount we worked closely with a community of expecting women to understand exactly what they need from their activewear, through each trimester and postpartum,” stated Aimee Arana, the general manager of Adidas Global Training in a press statement that the brand sent today. “The insights we gained were invaluable and led to a collection of essential pieces with support and comfort at the forefront.”
In collaboration with a group of women all in different trimesters, Adidas’ performance tops and tights are crafted from lightweight, high-stretch fabric that’s breathable, comfortable and supportive.

From pilates and yoga to strength training and dance, you can move with ease in the collection thanks to the brand’s Aeroready fabric that wicks away moisture and keeps you cool while working up a sweat. The special fabric was designed to help women who experience increased body temperature during pregnancy a cool and comfortable feel while they remain active throughout their term.
The line also makes use of its Primgreen fabric, which is made of recycled materials, such as plastic, adding a sustainable element to the new maternity performance-wear collection.
Among the notable pieces of the capsule collection is the Adidas Maternity Tank, which comes in a variety of cool and warm earth tones, including black, pink and olive. Made of light fabric, the shirt hugs the body without it being uncomfortable or squeezing. Plus, the longer front gives full coverage during the pregnancy and can be worn postpartum thanks to its long length A-line cut.
The line also features the ever-so-popular high-waisted legging made specifically for those expecting.
The Adidas Maternity 7/8 Tight is has a high-waisted, tailored band made of lightweight fabric that is meant to minimize pressure on the belly. The waistband can be pulled all the way up to cover your stomach or pulled below for a more relaxed fit.
Other items that you can expect in the collection include a T-shirt that offers full coverage. According to the press release sent by Adidas, more items will be added next season to the brand’s new maternity line.
