There are no practical hurdles in the work related to Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, so Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has instructed to continue the payment system of Panchayats through banks as before.
Sarpanchs from various regions of the state had apprised the state government about the practical problems faced in the implementation of PD account system in place of bank accounts for the payment of Panchayati Raj Institutions and autonomous institutions.
To address these problems, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of CM Ashok Gehlot at the Chief Minister's residence. It was decided in the meeting that the payment arrangements of Panchayats should be continued in the past so that no practical hurdles are encountered in the work related to Panchayati Raj and Rural Development.
The state government had decided to implement PD Account system for payment of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Autonomous Institutions because of financial management because of adverse financial circumstances arising out of COVID-19, but in the back of practical difficulties facing it It has been decided to continue the previous arrangement.
