Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki is delighted to see Percy Tau playing in the English Premier League with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Tau signed for the Seagulls in 2018 but has had to bide his time in Belgium before finally making the step up.

A number of former Bafana legends have plied their trade in England, and Ntseki sees only positives from Tau's move.

He told KickOff: "I think we are all happy, because of the level of competition that he will be exposed to. Which will be of great help coming into the national team and rubbing shoulders with the rest of the players."

Tau made his debut in the FA Cup win over Newport Town. He has since played against Manchester City, Leeds United, and against Blackpool in the 2-1 FA Cup fourth round victory on Saturday.

Ntseki added: "Seeing him playing his first game in an FA Cup we were all happy and excited. And his performance on the day after having gone through only two training sessions for that match, I think he did very well.

"Going forward I know him as somebody who is very focused, somebody who is a winner. He will have to compete to be in the starting 11 because I think the coach brought him back into the team after a thorough profiling of his abilities."
