HYDERABAD: In a joint operation, Central Crime Station (CCS) staff of Warangal along with Hanamkonda police have arrested three thieves and recovered nine stolen bikes from their possession. The gang has committed offences in Warangal and Hyderabad.
The accused, B Sai, 27, K Pranay, 22, from Warangal and B Vijay, 29, from Hyderabad have committed the offences along with their associate, P Chandu from Warangal.
According to Warangal commissioner P Pramod Kumar, the trio along with Chandu decided to commit bike thefts as their income from labour work was not sufficient to lead a comfortable life.
As part of the plan, the accused committed nine bike thefts at Intezar Ganj, Hanmakonda, Mee Colony, Chelpoor in Warangal and at Hyderabad during the past few months.
Sai is accused of committing burglaries at Kazipet, Subedari, Matwada, Intezar Ganj, Mee Colony, Mahbubabad, Gundala and Hyderabad between 20017 and 2020. He was booked under the PD Act and currently lodged at Cherlapally prison.
Another accused K Pranay has committed multiple burglaries in Warangal and he is also accused of trying to kill a transgender. Chandu has robbery, attempt to murder, burglary and theft cases registered against him.
After a series of bike theft offences in Warangal, police analysed the CCTV camera footage and kept a watch on the movements of the accused. While the accused were travelling from Padmakshi Gutta to Hanmakonda on three bikes, police intercepted them at Hanamkonda bus stand road. Based on their confession, police retrieved another six stolen bikes hidden by them in the bushes at Padmakshi Gutta. The accused were remanded in judicial custody.
