India vs England Test Series – Star Sports expecting ’bumper advertising’: It’s been more than 12 months since India played their last match on home soil. As the series against England starts on 5th February, BCCI’s official broadcaster Star Sports is expecting bumper advertising on the series. India is scheduled to play 4 test matches, 5 T20’s and 3 ODI’s during the series and Star Sports has revealed that the series is strong advertiser interest from categories like Auto, Ed-Tech, E-Commerce and Financial services.
“The India-England series marks the return of cricket to Indian soil after a long gap. The historic win at the Gabba has built anticipation for yet another crucial series with the world champion, England. We are seeing strong pent-up demand and positive sentiment amongst the marketers,” said Anil Jayaraj, Executive Vice President, Star Sports to E4m.
India to play 1st Match on Home Soil after 12 months, 1st test after 14 months
According to Star Sports and advertising fraternity, historic series win against Australia at Gabba and match on home soil after a gap of 12 months has led to strong pent up demand. The last time, India played a match on home soil was the ODI against Australia on 19th Jan 2020. It’s been more than 14 months since India played their last test in India. The last test match in India was against Bangladesh in Kolkata on 22nd Nov 2019. Since than India has played test matches on overseas tour against New Zealand and Australia but not even a single match has taken place in India.

Last T20 Match – 10th Jan 2020 against Sri Lanka
The series against England will be comeback of sorts for international LIVE CRICKET on Indian soil.
England tour of India: BCCI instructs Indian and England team to stay in isolation for 7 days
India vs England Test Series: Indian cricketers were in Bio-Bubble since the last 5 months. But after a short break of one week, the BCCI has once again instructed them to enter BIO-BUBBLE in Chennai from 26th January for the series against England. The Indian team will be re-assembling in Chennai on January 26th. The players according to the available information will be re-entering the Bio-Bubble for a week and will be tested thrice during the period, once before entering the bubble – 2nd with-in the bio-bubble and thirdly after finishing the isolation period of 7 days. The players will be allowed to practice only from Feb 2nd for the first test match against England starting on 5th February.
“A hotel has been booked for the teams near the Chepauk and the players will be allowed to practise only from February 2,” a Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) official told Cricbuzz.
Players who were not part of the squad in Australia, net bowlers and support staff will be reaching Chennai on January 23rd. The England team will also follow the same process. As reported earlier, England team will be reaching Chennai in two batches.
Ind vs Eng: Big setback for India, Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of England Test series
Meanwhile team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has reportedly been ruled out of the Test series against England, starting February 05. The all-rounder had fractured his thumb in the third Test against Australia in Sydney.
Jadeja had dislocated his left thumb while batting during the first innings in the third Test in Sydney and he underwent surgery in Australia but will need six weeks to recover.
Though BCCI is yet to officially declare Jadeja’s unavailability for the full series, but according to the information available with InsideSport, the leading Indian all-rounder remains far from being fit for the entire test series and his availability for the limited-overs assignment against England also remains in doubt.
