Imphal, January 23 2021: To commemorate the 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal in collaboration with Ningombam Ideal Youth Club (NIYC), observed 'Parakram Diwas' at NYK Ningombam Sana Keithel, Lakshmi Bazar, Thoubal, today.

The programme was attended by Ningombam Surjit Singh, Councillor, Thoubal Ningombam; Ningombam Arunkumar Singh, Vice president, NIYC; Michael T Mate, District Youth Officer, NYK Thoubal; Ningombam Somorjit Singh, Ward member and Waikhom Jiten Singh, Farm Manager, KVK Thoubal as presidium members.

The Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti observance began with floral tributes to a portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The resource person, Waikhom Jiten Singh spoke on the Philosophy, Teaching & Life History of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as an example for the youths of the Nation.

The programme concluded with a rendition of the National Anthem by the youths gathered for the programme.

Later, sports items were also distributed to youth clubs of the area.

Similarly, "Parakram Divas" was also observed today at New Keithelmanbi by Nehru Yuva Kendra Imphal West in association with Ching Tam Society, New Keithelmanbi and Youth Clubs of New Keithelmanbi.

A Cycle Rally of the Youths bearing the message of Parakram Divas was also flagged off by L Marjitkumar Singh, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra Imphal West.

Floral Tributes were also offered at the portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose by the youths.

A brief life history of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was also told by L Marjitkumar Singh, DYC Imphal West.

A short Cultural programme was also performed by the youths.

Remembering the contributions of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles organised various events at Tamenglong district, today.

The events included a 'Walkathon' in Tamenglong Subdivision, Makru Volleyball tournament in Tousem Subdivision and Army recruitment awareness session in T Waichung Subdivision of Kangpokpi district.

The Commandant Tamenglong battalion led the villagers to pay floral tributes at a grand function organised at Jadonang Park.

Later the first of its kind 'Walkathon' to promote Fit India was flagged off by him.

The Walkathon event culminated with a 'Band Display' for the attendees.

At Azuiram village of Tousem subdivision, the much anticipated Makru Volleyball tournament began with 20 teams competing.

Remembering Netaji at T Waichung, the Unit organised Army recruitment training session for the local youth.

Addressing the programme, the Commandant apprised the gathering about Army pre-recruitment training and other youth development efforts by the Unit.
