Punjab receives 46% response on Sunday for Covid-19 inoculation

CHANDIGARH: Punjab’s Covid-19 inoculation drive achieved 46% of its target on Sunday with 1,007 registered health care workers turning up for vaccination.
The health department had set up the target to vaccinate as many as 2,160 health care workers in five districts on Sunday. Whereas Punjab health department has achieved overall 38% target of Covid-19 vaccination till date since the launch of the drive. Only 31,326 health care workers have been vaccinated across 22 districts of the state till date against the set target of 80,337. The highest number of 7,248 health workers have been vaccinated in Ludhiana district till date followed by 4,931 in Jalandhar and 2,775 in Amritsar.
Out of the 980 registered health workers in Ludhiana, only 483 turned up for vaccination on Sunday. Similarly, out of 700 registered health workers in Jalandhar, only 353 took the Covid-19 vaccine jab on Sunday. Out of the total 200 registered health workers in Amritsar, only 122 volunteered for vaccination; 36 out of total 180 health workers in Patiala and 13 out of total 100 health workers turned up in Nawanshahr district.
