As mercury goes up, Gurugram gets slight relief from cold spell

The AQI improved to ‘poor’ category on Saturday due to strong winds
GURUGRAM: A minor respite from the cold spell was felt in the city on Saturday as the minimum temperature was recorded at 6.2°C — a slight rise from 5.4°C on the previous day. However, dense fog engulfed several parts of the city in the morning hours.

Also, the maximum temperature went down to 19.3°C on Saturday. On Friday, the daytime temperature was recorded at 19.5°C.
According to the meteorological department (IMD), chilly weather conditions will be back from Monday onwards. Also, cold wave is likely to grip the region for next 3-4 days, an IMD official said. A dense to very dense fog is likely to prevail during the next 4-5 days in the region.
According to the forecast, while the maximum temperature will hover around 18°C on Sunday, the minimum temperature will be around 9°C. The sky will be partly cloudy with shallow-to-moderate fog in the morning.
Meanwhile, the air quality improved to the “poor” category on Saturday owing to strong winds. The overall air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 285, slightly better than the index (315) recorded on Friday.
Three of the four monitoring stations of Gurugram-- Teri Gram, Gwalpahari and Sector-51 -- recorded the indices in “poor” category, while the air was “very poor” at Vikas Sadan. The AQI at Vikas Sadan was 301, while it was 299 in Sector 51, 290 in Gwalpahari and 225 in Teri Gram.
