In Arunachal Pradesh, BJP workers protested against the construction of a village by China in the Upper Suvarnasri district of the state on Saturday and burnt effigies of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

BJP spokesman Tech Necha said that China often describes Arunachal Pradesh as its territory and makes such infiltration in the state.

Necha told reporters that we strongly condemn these antics of China and want to give a strong message to Beijing that we are Indians and will remain Indians.

He said that the area (where China allegedly built) was annexed by China during Congress rule in 1959 and the party failed to protect it or develop the border areas of the state.

He said that the ruling BJP government is constructing the 2000 km long Arunachal Frontier Highway near McMahon Rekha.
