I read a short letter the other day in which the writer kept using the term Democrat/communist when he was referring to a Democrat. That writer exemplifies the growing problem we are experiencing that encouraged so many people to participate in the insurrection at the nation’s capital a couple weeks ago.
Yes, it is probable that some Democrats lean strongly to a “communistic” government, although my guess is that the writer doesn’t know the difference between democratic socialism and communism. But I doubt that the percentage of Democrats favoring a total socialistic government in America would even come close to 5%.
On the other hand, this writer isn’t alone in his description of a political party. There are many others who when they use the word Republican, always say Republican/fascist. And I doubt that there are even close to 5% of Republicans who favor a fascist government.
The problem is that 10% of our population is a lot of people, and if those 10% get together, they can cause a lot of unintended bad consequences for the other 90% who would rather work things out in a peaceful manner.
