KALYAN: Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) completed work on the Patripul rail overbridge after 26 months and has decided to inaugurate it on January 25. Completion of an additional two-lane bridge will help over two lakh commuters. It is crucial connector between Kalyan and Navi Mumbai, as well as the east and west of the city.
MSRDC officials, who on Friday along with Kalyan MP Dr Shrikant Shinde had visited the bridge for an inspection, said that it will be inaugurated online by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and environment minister Aaditya Thackeray.
While demolishing the 104-year-old British era bridge in August 2018, MSRDC had claimed work on the new bridge would be completed in eight months.
