Congress, on Saturday, celebrated the birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose at its South Goa district office, with the participation of senior party leaders, who called on the youth to take inspiration from Bose.
Senior Congress leader Eduardo Faleiro while speaking at the function said, “Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was one of the tallest leaders of India and was a staunch nationalist. Today’s youth must take inspiration from him and contribute in the nation building process as he did.”
Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha, MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, former minister Aleixo Sequeira, GPCC vice president M K Shaikh, secretary Damodar Shirodkar, SGDC president Joseph Dias and others were present on the occasion, and paid floral tributes to Netaji.
“Today, the time has come for all of us to stand united to protect the identity of Goa. I appeal to the Congress workers to reach out to the people and be their voice which will help us to take ahead the aspirations of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose,” said Kamat.
Sardinha said that, “Subash Chandra Bose was the former president of Congress Party. He was a true nationalist who had the courage to fight against British empire. His contributions to India will never be forgotten.”
