National spokesperson of the BJP, Dr Sambit Patra who is also in-charge of BJP Manipur today declared that only a Government which is a friend of the hills can bring stability and progress in Manipur.
Dr Patra said this while addressing a Mandal level meeting at Ukhrul today.
Dwelling on the slogan "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas", Dr Patra said that this is the principle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and added that this is aimed at accommodating all citizens and provide equal opportunity to all in a fair manner.
Narrating his political journey from Mandal secretary to National spokesperson and also to be in charge of the saffron party in Manipur, Dr Patra acknowledged the immense role of grassroot workers.

Grassroot workers and the voters should be given the highest honour in a democracy, he said adding that it is the voters who decide who should govern the Nation.
Stating that the BJP Government is committed to the development of the hill districts the BJP in charge of Manipur said that Rs 570 lakh have been sanctioned for developmental works in Ukhrul district.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh who attended as the chief guest of the Mandal meeting announced that an "Amusement and Children park" will be constructed at Ukhrul district headquarters at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
"It is to refresh weary minds of the town folks that this amusement and children park would be constructed at the earliest," said the Chief Minister and added that six parks will be constructed in six districts of the State.
The CM also informed that "as per Niti-Ayog survey" Manipur has been ranked first in "Innovation" amongst the North Eastern States while it is placed in the third position in NE and Himalayan States category.
He said that the present Government works in a time bound manner to bring tangible development and added that the people of Ukhrul have been enduring immense hardship in the last many years but this will be a thing of the past.
The BJP led Government at Imphal fully supports a peaceful settlement of the Indo-Naga issue, said the Chief Minister.
The CM also urged the party workers to work sincerely and win the confidence of the people of Ukhrul and added that this time BJP has to form the ADC in Ukhrul.
N Biren Singh went on to mention that he will concentrate on strengthening the saffron party as both the ADC and Assembly elections are not far off.
Dr Patra felicitated three Mandal presidents during the meeting to show gratitude for their allegiance to the party.
Thothing Kashung president BJP Ukhrul unit urged the visiting party leaders to bring more development in the district.
Separate meetings were held with ADC intending candidates, ex-MLAs and MLAs.
Later after the meeting, the visiting CM along with Dr Sambit Patra, Ministers, MLAs, and party leaders trudged on foot to interact with the people.
During the road show, the CM interacted with women vendors and assured to provide them loans.
The one day Mandal meeting was jointly organized by the Mandals of Phungyar, Ukhrul and Chingai.
