'Bomb-like' object creates panic on busy Noida street

NOIDA: A day after a hoax bomb threat at Kailash Hospital in Noida, a similar incident came to light on Friday morning on a busy road in Noida Sector 63.
Security forces got an alert in the morning about a bomb-like device in Sector 63 and cordoned off the entire area.

The security has already been beefed up ahead of the Republic Day.
A police spokesperson said that the device was not an explosive and had no detonator. He added that the object had a watch strapped to it and was placed on the road divider in Noida Sector 63.

"The local Phase-3 police station received a call in the morning about a bomb-like device lying in the middle of the road. Police personnel, including senior officers, immediately reached the spot. Traffic was diverted and the area cordoned off," the spokesperson said.
According to the police, the object has been removed from the road and traffic movement has resumed in the area adding that investigation is under way to catch the miscreants.
