At least 15 passengers were injured after a banking engine smashed into the Agartala-Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express at Badarpur railway station in Assam’s Karimganj district on Thursday. The injured passengers were immediately admitted to the railway hospital.

According to eyewitness accounts, the passenger train arrived at Badarpur railway station as per schedule and was supposed to depart for the New Haflong hill section. The banking engine is attached to the train before it departs for hilly areas.
