Imphal, January 20 2021: The Directorate of Education (S) has directed all school authorities (Government/Government Aided/private) to stop admission process for the new academic session of all classes immediately till a decision on starting of new academic session is taken.

The direction came amid reports that some schools have issued notifications and started the admission process for the new academic session, based on the Cabinet decision to reopen schools from January 27, in violation of the Government instructions, said an order of the Directorate today.

Whereas the State Cabinet had decided to reopen schools for Classes IX to XII from January 27 in view of the ensuing HSLCE (High School Leaving Certificate Examination) and HSE (Higher Secondary Examination), the schools should stop all admission process for the new academic session till the Government issues an order to this effect, it said.

The direction is given with a view to maintain a uniform academic session across the State both for those affiliated to State Board as well as CBSE, the order said.
