Konark to be developed into a world-class tourist destination

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21 (UNI) Odisha government has decided to undertake major infrastructure development works in Konark and its adjacent areas to make it a world-class tourist destination.
The government today approved a draft plan for the beautification of the Konark heritage area around Sun temple and appealed to people to give their suggestions within 21 days.
The main objective of the heritage project to be implemented under 5 T programme is to protect and conserve the sun temple, attract more tourists, financial development of local traders and to develop the economy of Konark, Puri and the entire tourism economy of the state.
Under the project, the 3.5 km-long outer ring road around the temple will be made six-laned. All roads connecting to the temple will be developed while dedicated points will be created between Bhubaneswar and Konark for the smooth transportation of visitors and rehabilitation of local vendors.
The 30 acres of land in front of the temple will be kept open while landscaping will be done on the same. An entry plaza will be constructed at the entrance to welcome the tourists. This apart, a multi-modal hub will be created for parking of vehicles.
The Konark Open Air Theatre will be renovated under the project. Also, a special stretch of road will be constructed for pedestrians.

Young and Old simultaneously .So much so that presently 18 Children
under 15 years of age, have been detected and are under treatment,500
Grown ups are also found infected ,212 out of these are under
treatment,110 persons lost their lives to HIV /AIDS , during the
Corona wave year . But miraculously 18 AIDS infected mothers,have
delivered babies devoid of the HIV/AIDS,with wonderful ‘Elimination of
transmission mother to Child’. Question arises is anything being done
for Awareness,despite Corona ?
Sikkim State AIDS control society has come up with novel way of
generating awareness about the dreaded disease HIV/ AIDS.All different
wings of the Society are also carrying out relevant activities.
