A new Resident Evil project called Resident Evil Re:Verse has seemingly leaked ahead of its presumed official announcement during the Resident Evil Showcase later today.
The Humble Store leaked the name. All we know so far is that whatever Resident Evil Re:Verse is, it's included with Resident Evil Village. People online are speculating that Re:Verse is the name of the new Resident Evil multiplayer game or mode that we heard about for the first time recently.
The Humble Store page includes a link to a Resident Evil Re:Verse website, but the page is not available just yet. It appears the link went live too early.
Whatever Capcom has in store, it seems we'll learn more during the Resident Evil Showcase, which begins on January 21 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. Capcom is promising more news about Resident Evil Village along with further updates on the wider Resident Evil series.
You can watch the event here on GameSpot, and we'll report back with all the big news as it happens. Capcom already announced that a closed beta for the Resident Evil multiplayer game will take place starting on January 28--here's how to sign up.
The website mentions that this new Resident Evil game supports 4-6 players, but that's all the information that's available at this stage. Capcom has tried Resident Evil multiplayer before, most recently with Resident Evil Resistance.
Resident Evil Village, meanwhile, is slated for release in 2021 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
In other news about Capcom, the publisher has raised its financial guidance for the fiscal year due to strong sales of Resident Evil 3 and Monster Hunter World, among other factors. In addition, Capcom has been fined hundreds of thousands of dollars by the EU over an issue with PC games.
