Three people, including a Woman, drowned at Gokarna pilgrimage centre

Gokarna, Karnataka, Jan 21(UNI) Three people, including a woman, drowned in the sea while one person was rescued by the fishermen on Thursday.
Police said the deceased have been identified as Thippesha, Suma and Ravi, all hailed from Bengaluru.
In all 16 people were on a pilgrimage to Gokarna. After the temple visit four of them went to the sea shore and were playing when all of a sudden huge waves pulled them into the water. However, one among the drowning was rescued by the fishermen.
Gokarna police visited the spot and retrieved all three bodies from the sea. A case has been registered in this connection.

Officials said that on personal search the passenger was found to have concealed gold in paste form in Rectum. Gold 0.8 KG of 24k purity valued Rs 44.2 Lakh was recovered and seized.
