Training / interaction programme concludes

Bishnupur, January 20 2021: The valedictory function of two days training cum interaction programme on 'Cultivation of Summer Crops for doubling Farm Income' was held today at Oinam High School.

The training programme was organised by Directorate of Research, Central Agricultural University (CAU) Imphal and Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Manipur Prant under the sponsorship of Allied Coordinate Research Project.

Director of Research CAU Dr S Basanta Singh, president of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Manipur Prant N Indubushan Singh, general secretary of All India Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Dinesh Kulkarni and general secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Manipur Prant Telem Dara Singh attended as the presidium members.

During today's programme, Dr Th Robindro Deputy Director of Research CAU and Dr S Kulachandra spoke as the resource persons on how to generate double income by farmers.

Seeds of summer crops were also distributed to the farmers as a part of the programme.

Telem Dara Singh alleged that the State Government does not provide the due benefits and rights to the farmers and ignores the plight of the farmers.

Though many Bills have been passed by the State Assembly for the development of the farmers they not have been enacted.

Further he warned of various forms of agitation if the Government does not pay heed to the demands of the farmers.
