Kemira Chemicals has decided to shut the Äetsä chlorate site manufacturing line II in order to enhance long term profitability at the site. The company will be holding cooperation negotiations with its employees on January 25, 2021.

Finland – Kemira Chemicals has plans to start employee cooperation negotiations with the operational employees at its Äetsä site in Finland. Kemira Chemicals plans to close the Äetsä chlorate site manufacturing line II permanently.

Therefore the need for employment declines materially and permanently. Additionally, Kemira Chemicals aims to improve long term profitability at the site. To reach the target ways of working, organizational structure must be simplified and renewed.

The cooperation negotiations start on January 25, 2021, and will take two weeks. According to a preliminary estimate these planned changes will lead to nine redundancies at the Äetsä site.
