Pakyong , 21 Jan : A 57 year old man has been arrested by police on the alleged charges of sexually assaulting a 10 year old girl. The incident happened on January 17 in a village under Temi Police Station in South Sikkim.
A written FIR was lodged by a father of the victim child, stating that his minor daughter aged 10 years was repeatedly sexually assaulted by one Nar Bdr. Basnett a govt employee (electrician )of Lower Tanak at nearby jungle.
Further he had threatened the minor victim to not inform anyone about the same.
Accused is relative of the victim child and had sexually assaulted the victim on three previous occasions (exact date and time not known to the victim.
The alleged person used to lure the victim child by giving cash and warned her not to reveal this to anyone.
A case under section POCSO has been registered against the accused.
