Poppy plantation destruction drive held

Tengnoupal, January 20 2021: In continuation of the drive against poppy plantation, a combined team of Tengnoupal district police, CDO, NAB, 3rd IRB and 2nd MR destroyed around 54 acres of illicit poppy plantations at Molphai hill range under the jurisdiction of Machi police station, yesterday.

The combined team was led by Th Vikramjit Singh, SP Tengnoupal and W Basu Singh, SP NAB.

The team also included Krishnatombi, Additional SP (Ops) Tengnoupal; RK Saklemba, Additional SP NAB; Inspector John Lamkang, OC Tengnoupal; Inspector DK Angrung, OC Machi PS and Inspector Bobby, OC NAB.

So far, Manipur police have destroyed 1804 acres of illegal poppy plantation at various hill districts of Manipur.
