A total of 10 buses are being purchased by BBMP at the cost of Rs 4 lakh each from BMTC.
BENGALURU: To educate underprivileged children, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has begun conversion of old vehicles into mobile schools.
A total of 10 buses are being purchased by BBMP at the cost of Rs 4 lakh each from BMTC.
"BBMP would be conducting the bridge courses to attract underprivileged children into mainstream schools," said an official communication from BMTC on Thursday. "The converted buses have a vinyl flooring mat and white board for teachers and chairs for staff," it added.
These buses, according to the statement, would be sent to areas where the number of out-of-school children is high. Teachers from the BBMP schools will be deputed to teach these children. It is a joint initiative of BBMP along with BMTC to educate underprivileged children.
