KIWT 2021: Ward No 12 win in U-15, Ward No 2 win in both main and veteran football

Kangpokpi, January 19 2021: Ward No 12 opened their account with an easy 8-0 win over Ward No 10 in the inaugural match of U-15 football in the 17th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2021 being organised at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi today.

Ngamminlun (4', 7', 9'), Paoginlal (12') and Lamginthang (18', 26', 36', 38') scored for Ward No 12 .

In main football, Ward No 2 had a narrow 2-1 win over Ward No 11(B) in the first match.

Daniel (21') and Seiminlal (54') scored for Ward No 2 while Ngullenmang pulled back a goal for Ward No 11(B) in the 23rd minute.

In another main football match, Ward No 14 held Ward No 8 to a 1-1 draw as Ward No 8 striker Mangkai's early goal in the 4th minute was equalized by Ward No 14 midfielder Lenminlal during the stoppage time (60') .

Meanwhile, Ward No 2 opened its account win a 4-2 win over Ward No 3 in the Veteran football second match despite Ward No 3 veteran striker Kaybie Chongloi scoring the tourney's fastest goal in the 3rd minute.

Ward No 2, however responded swift and cancelled Kaybie's goal in the 8th minutes through Seitinmang who added another goal in the 33rd minute.

Jangthang then scored twice (15, 39) to make 3-1 in Ward No 2's favour.

Ward No 3 managed to pull back a goal through its striker Thangcha in the 40th minute but Ward No 2 held on to their lead to finish the game 4-2 .

In the second match of Veteran football competition, Ward No 8 had an easy 5-0 win over Ward No 10 as Romeo Mimin hit a hattrick (12', 13' and 20') while Tongneo(30') and Satminthang(38') added a goal each.

Meanwhile, men's and women's volleyball will begin tomorrow morning at 7.30 am at the same venue.

Ward No 12-Ward No 4 will open men's volleyball competition while Ward No 8-Ward No 16 will open women's competition.
