In a murder most foul, a businessman hired contract killers to kill his own techie son in Bengaluru because the son allegedly tortured the parents for a share in the property.
BV Keshava (50), a resident of Malleswaram 17th cross in Bengaluru, has now been arrested by the Avanahalli Police on charges of murdering his elder son. According to the police, on January 12, the father filed a missing person’s report, claiming his elder son Kaushal Prasad had not returned home since January 10.
The father was also mentioned in his complaint that Kaushal’s mobile phone was given to the younger son. While police began to search for Kaushal, residents of Avanahalli informed the local police of a foul smell emanating from a few gunny bags thrown into the Elemallappa Lake bed.
Police were shocked when they opened the gunny bags and saw parts of a human body. The body was later identified as that of Kaushal, who had been missing. After a post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family.
Police sources said that surveillance cameras accessed by them showed the victim boarding a white Maruti Zen car near Malleswaram 18th cross.
Furthermore, the police also learnt that the car was recently bought by a person identified as Naveen Kumar and another.
With the help of surveillance cameras, police tracked the car moving in the direction of Elemalla Lake. The police then interrogated Naveen Kumar who confessed to the crime. He told the police that the father of the victim hired them for Rs 3 lakh and had already received an advance of Rs 1 lakh.
The father took to murdering his own son over constant torture for property. The accused was known to the father since they were the classmates of his younger son.
The accused told the police that on the fateful day, they took the victim to the lake and made him consume alcohol laced with sedatives. They then beheaded him in the car, chopped his hands and legs and dumped the body parts in gunny bags.
