MKU evening college begins admission process for M Phil courses

MADURAI: The Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Evening College has opened applications for admission to various M Phil courses offered for the academic year 2020-2021 and the last date for admission is January 29.
As per an official notification from MKU on January 18, admissions are open for M Phil courses for 22 subjects -- Commerce, Tamil, Chemistry, English, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, Bio-Medical Science, Economics, History, Business Administration, Botany, Bio-Medical Science, Computer science, Bio-Technology, Sociology, Education, Computer Application, Journalism and Mass Communications, Library Science, Gandhian Studies, Tourism Management, and Political Science.
The application form for admission can be downloaded from the university website at www.mkuniversity.ac.in.
Admission into the course will be based on the marks scored in the M Phil qualification test and candidates will be ranked and selected based on the reservation policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
SC/ST students need not pay the cost of the application by producing an attested copy of their Community Certificate.
Other students are required to pay Rs 500 towards the cost of the application along with the filled in application.

The course is for two semesters with 90 working days each and the semester exams are usually held in November and April of the academic year.
The MKU Evening College was re-established in 2017 to help employed persons, who are unable to undergo studies through regular mode, considering the increased demand for higher degree courses.
