One of the biggest Chinese businessmen, Jack Ma, who had been missing for months, made his first public appearance on Wednesday. The Alibaba and Ant co-founder had stopped appearing in public view since early November giving rise to speculations of increased scrutiny by the Chinese government over his internet empire.
While Ma made his first public appearance in months, he as part of an online conference, addressed teachers to recognise rural educators.

Ma had kept out of public view ever since the Chinese administration launched multiple probes against Ant and Alibaba’s operations in a span of a few days.
